Christmas Presents + Blog Updates

Merry Christmas/ Happy Holidays for those who don't celebrate Christmas. My favorite time of year is now coming to end, I'm sad about it but I know it will be coming back around in due time. Personally, Christmas time is not all about presents and all the other things it has became about -even though it is lovely to receive gifts from people who care about you- it's more about giving back and spending time with the people you love even if it is for a day or an entire week or weekend. This year I participated in Angel Tree for the first time as an adult ,and bought presents for my family which made me really excited to see everyone's reactions to their gifts and such.

I also received a few presents from my family and I thought I would share them with you because I love every single thing I received this year and couldn't be more thankful for the people in my life.

31 books I need- 12 days of Blogmas

Hi I know I disappeared for a bit sorry about that life got a little hectic my goal for now is to do 12 days of blogmas -if that is a thing- and have a few post and giveaways ready for January. Now onto the post!

Changes-Blogmas day 6

In life there are going to be times where you are happy with yourself and how your life is going, when I say that I mean you finally accepted the way you look –curvy, thin, tall, short etc.- and  you’re doing good in school, university or whatever it is you are doing. Even though you are finally content with life you’re going to have this nagging feeling in the back of your mind telling you that you want/need more. Wither it’s changing something about you physical cosmetic self or something work or school related. Making changes is something that is a part of life that could have both a positive and negative outcome depending on how you go about making the change. Change in life should be something that should always have a positive outcome in your life no matter how long it takes you to make the change.

Sopapilla Cheesecake Bars- Blogmas day 5

One thing I love to do in my spare time is bake, whenever I’m sad, happy or just in any type of mood I bake. It’s something that relaxes even when I have to clean my mess up after I finishes. For my first baking post I found a recipe on Pinterest for easy Sopapilla Cheesecake bars. The link from the pinned item lead me to a site called Cookies and Cups. If you don’t know Sopapilla basically a pastry that is fried or a quick baked bread. Just to warn you I’m really not great at explaining so what I did was copy downed the instructions and added a bunch of pictures -haha-

My Fashion Inspiration- Blogmas Day 4

When I typically talk about my style I could never pinpoint just one specific “’genre”- let’s call of it- of what my I like to wear which I typically end up saying anything or everyone. I’d say my style is unique because I just wear what I want to wear what I want to wear. Do I follow trends? Yes I try but then again I rather wear what I want to wear and be happy, for this post I wanted to create a list I pull inspiration from and instead of me rambling on and on I’ll just have pictures of the people- all thanks to pinterest-, hopefully you can get to know what I like when it comes my fashion and styling.

Dear Santa- Blogmas Day 3

(source)

Dear Santa,
Hello, how are ya? I meet you earlier this year while I was in the Grand Canyon but I didn’t really get to tell you what I wanted for Christmas because you and I both know you need to focus on the little kids more than me. I know I may seem a little old to do I mean I am in my second year of college already but that doesn’t mean I can’t believe in you right? I would like to believe I have been fairly nice this year, I mean I cleaned my room after the second time my mom asked…Ok it was the third time...Alright fine it was like the hundredth time. But I have been pretty nice this year so hopefully I’m still on the nice you list I know you check it twice but maybe check a third and fourth time just to make sure. I know you’re a busy man so I’ll just get straight to the point here is my Christmas list:

Christmas Playlist- Blogmas day 2

Not going to lie to you I have been singing and listening to Christmas music since well November I finally decided to make a playlist on Spotify of some of the music I always listen to during this year. Just a heads up you will be hearing a lot of Michael Buble I mean how can you not love his music. This is just a start of my playlist I will be adding more throughout the month and you can add some as well it is a collaborative playlist like my Autumn playlist. There isn't much more for me to say besides light a candle, make hot chocolate, put on your pjs and cozy socks while jamming to this playlist.

11/26/15

Autumn Playlist

During this time of year I spend more time inside due to the weather even though it’s not bad I prefer staying inside when it gets chilly. Here is a playlist of some of the songs I’m currently listening to on repeat when I’m sitting on the couch or hanging out with my friends. I made this a collaborative playlist which means you can add songs you like to listen to during this time of year.

Handling a job you dislike

There are going to be times in life you may end up at a job you don’t completely like or you just downright dislike as a whole. During the time of working at said job you will end up having a learning experience when it comes to customer service, management, and professionalism that you will be able to carry out for jobs you’ll have in the future. Since I have experience in disliking a job, bad management etc. I thought it would be cool to share with you things I did to make the job a little easier when the environment itself was filled with a lot of negativity until I was able to find another job that I actually wanted/enjoyed. I hope you are ready for this post it may be a little lengthy with quite a few different and random points with things that do tend to happen in a work place, but I hope they will help you now or in the future.

304 Clothing Wish list

Look at me back with another wish list from a brand you probably haven’t heard of lol. Today, I’m sharing with you some of my favorite pieces from an online shop called 304 Clothing –obviously-. This brand caught my attention when they followed me on Twitter, when I noticed they followed me I decided to check out what they had to offer. Let me tell you I was quite impressed because it’s really different from what is in my closet but are things I would like to own –if that makes sense-.  Enjoy!

GRWM Halloween:Minnie Mouse & Edgy Cat

I don’t think I’ve ever done a get ready with me post so this is really exciting for me. Today I’m showing you the two costumes I wore Friday and Saturday at work since it is Halloween weekend. These are outfits I put together as a last minute costume idea so basically everything is from my closet minus the ears and the contacts.

To start things of on Friday I decided to dress up as Minnie Mouse because I have two set of cat ears and one set honestly looks like Minnie ears on me.
Here are the products I’m using in this look

First things first I cleansed my skin with my ever so hand Equate Beauty face wash, toner and moisturizer set.

For my face I applied a layer of foundation, concealer under my eyes and on any spots that are driving me crazy, dusted my face lightly powder to keep the shine away for a bit and filled my brows in -I went a little brow crazy in this picture yikes-.

LUCLUC Wish list

Hello lovely people,

It has been a while since I posted I’m really sorry about that I have been focusing on my studies and working on transferring to a school in New York. Even though school is important I feel horrible for leaving you high and dry for like a month but I am coming back with post every Wednesday and Thursday in November. To kick it off I’m doing a wish list from an online story called LUCLUC that I heard about from someone on Tumblr. When I checked out their sight I was completely blown away with three things: 1. the clothes-obviously-, 2. the prices and 3. FREE SHIPPING! Yeah you heard me right free shipping with no minimum purchase. With all that promo being said I made a list of some of the things I am dying to have in my closet.

Tights and Socks
Since it is starting to get chilly here in Texas I have become obsessed with wearing tights -especially ones with cool designs on them- and knee high socks.

Why I Started Blogging

Everyone has a story. Why they choose a field of study? Why acting as a career? Why are you going Vegan? The amount of stories and experiences that can be told through a simple question are endless. One question could lead to a story that wants you to ask more questions until you know more about the person you’re talking to. A question I get all the time is why did I start Blogging? I know I have told my story of how I got into blogging in a few different post already since I starts TTEOT  but today I wanted to go into a little more detail about what led me to blogging and how I expanded it to something I really care about.

My 19th Birthday

This year for my birthday I wanted to do something different. I wanted to do something that would benefit not only me- as in make me happy- but other people as well. Most days when I’m caught up in my thoughts I’m thinking about things I can do to make a change in the world and how to improve someone else’s life to make it a little easier for them whether it’s give my time to help at a food drive or donating money to a non-profit organization to help bring in supplies to the different countries across the world that need help, even if it is just bringing awareness to an organization that touches my heart. With that being said this year to make my birthday special  I do not want gifts or anything like that I would like to raise $190 before October 21, 2015 –the day after my birthday-  to an organization that I have been interested in for a while now called Pencils of Promise.

August Favorites

Look who’s finally posting their favorites because I didn’t post my favorites for July month I’ve combined those with my current favorite. Since I took a class all summer as well as worked less it gave me time to experiment with eye shadow as well as read a couple of books and do a lot of thinking –which may probably become a post of its own-. In this favorite you will be seeing a variety of things makeup, books, music, and an app. Enjoy!

A Look into my Makeup Bag

I don’t think I’ve ever done a “what’s in my bag” post so yay first what’s my bag post. Today I’m doing a what’s in my makeup bag post-As you can obviously tell by the title- I usually don’t carry around a makeup bag but since I have been trying new products and starting wearing makeup more often now I thought why not just carry a bag with me. Honestly, when I packed my makeup bag I was really questioning what to put in it. The first time I packed foundation eye shadow, eyeliner the whole works I think it is safe to say I know a little better now. First off let’s talk about my bag at the moment I’m carrying around a Barbizon makeup bag that I bought last year at a competition and I have been using ever since I might upgrade to another bag someday soon I just have to find one that I really enjoy looking at… Is that weird? Anyways here’s what’s in my bag.

Back to School Haul

After two months off of school it's finally time to fall back into the everyday routine of getting up going to class, doing homework, eat dinner sleep and repeat until the next day off of school or holiday break. Lucky for me I didn't have to go back to school at the same time as everyone else- perks of being in college-. I still had to do my back to school shopping but I was able to hold off on it for a little bit and bypass all of the crowded stores and long lines at Office Depot. Since I have finished  all of my shopping I thought I do a back to school haul and show you everything I have to face this new school year.

First thing I bought were school books not the most exciting thing but I kind of need these if I plan on passing my classes-which I do- lucky for me I only needed to buy three but they still cost quite a bit but at least I'm ready to start my assignments.

Summer Essentials 2015

This summer I have spent most of it-all of it- either at work or at school. Either way I thought I would show you what I carried around with me throughout these lovely summer days and nights no matter where I have been.

E.L.F oil blotting sheets

As I said before in one of my post I try not to wear makeup during the summer so I kept these lovely things with me to help remove some of the oil that has gathered up on my face.

Barbizon Dallas Competition

This past weekend I was lucky enough to be a part of Barbizon’s 6th annual Dallas Competition which is basically a huge showcase for models and actors to perform in front of a panel of judges who are representatives from modeling and acting management/agencies as well as schools for acting from all of the U.S. –and maybe other countries I believe-. During the competition, contestants participate in TV Commercial and Runway automatically and are able to add on other competitions including Improv-which I also competed it-, Stand-up Comedy, Singing and Dancing.

Review: Cover Girl “The Super Sizer” Mascara

On an unintentional trip to Walmart about a month back, I picked up the Covergirl Super Sizer Mascara in the shade very black for $5.94. Since I was in a dire need of a mascara or be stuck using a truly crappy drugstore mascara that flaked and smudged- cringe-. Therefore, I thought why don't I just give it a try, if I don't like it I'll come back and pick up my usual Maybelline Great Lash Mascara.

My Summer Makeup

During the summer I try my best to stay away from makeup and go makeup free but if I do wear makeup I tend to use a BB cream. This summer, I did not have a chance to go out and buy a BB cream which resulted in me sticking to my current foundation. I also wore makeup more than I usually do during this time of year which lead to me writing this post for you which is –obviously- showing you how I wore makeup most of the summer. 9 times out of 10 when I do my makeup with eyeshadow I tend to stick to browns and golds and a red lip –I should probably branch out from that-. Therefore, all summer I have been wearing a golden brown kind of smokey eye.
Even though this is probably more of an autumn kind of look I really enjoy basically all year round –again I need to change it up a bit-.

Tricks to Save Money

I honestly feel like I am not the best person to give out type of advice, tips or tricks about anything related to holding onto money because quite frankly I am absolutely 100% rubbish at it! I’m the person sometimes pays there bills and sometimes forgets-thank god I still live at home and not in my own flat –. I also may or may not be an impulsive spender… Especially when it comes to food and clothes and makeup –my three true weaknesses-. As, I did this at least every other paycheck I finally came to the terms with the fact that I’m a shopaholic –anyone else want to jump on the Shopaholics Anonymous bus?- and I really need to start saving my money and all that Jazz that comes with growing up and becoming an adult.

Loving Yourself

                                                                            (source)
One of the hardest thing anyone can go through in their life is learning to love themselves for who they are or how they look without any type of hesitations about expressing who they are. With society’s expectation of how a person show be based on their ethnicity, religion hair color, body type. Heck! Even their sexuality, people tend to believe that their true self is something that will be looked down upon because they aren't living up to the things and “expectations” people want to see or believe should.

Goodwill Haul

Yesterday was the opening of a Goodwill store in Kennedale, one of the things I absolutely love to doing is finding cool and fun second hand stores to find clothes and things that are different vintage and most likely the only of its kind. As, I was say since I attended the opening yesterday and bought I few things I thought it would be fun to share with you guys all of the things I bought.

Spooky Eyes Review

Who says Halloween is the only time to have some fun with colored contacts? One thing I love to do is change up my look for different things I’m going too after hearing about http://www.spookyeyes.com/ I knew I would enjoy finding cool fun contacts to play with for different event I would attend.  After receiving a sample from Spooky Eyes in the color Black I knew this would be something really fun and exciting.

June Favorite

The last time I did a favorites post was way back in November –how naughty of me-
Most of the things on my list –which aren’t many- are mostly beauty products.

The first thing on the list is my Shea Moisture African Black Soap, when I say I truly love this product I mean I really do first off it’s an face wash and it really worked on my face but it also can be used as a body wash which is amazing! The soap helps clear your skin if you have any acne or dry skin on there, it does dry your skin out at first but once you use it for a while and apply a body lotion afterwards your skin will be so soft you wouldn’t know what to do.  Get it!

Review: L’Oréal Paris Ultimate Straight

The L’Oréal Paris Ultimate Straight collection is a product that is new to L’Oréal family –I may not be right about that-. The four step system is advertised to relax the hair from root to tip for an “extraordinary straight transformation” for up to 48 hours depending on the heated styling tools you use. The four steps include shampoo, pre-conditioner, conditioner and Straight Perfecting Balm.

Happy Blog-iversary to me!

This is a really exiting post for me to write because my blog turned three today yay! Plus I also hit 3,000 page view today (you should follow as well so I can do a giveaway soon *insert winking emoji*)
To be honest I started my blog as an assignment for my Yearbook class back in high school with a few good awful post that I have deleted but I did leave one up. Here’s a quick screenshot of that.

Stealing Style: Demeshia Thomas

Style and fashion changes every day and people are always influenced by people they see on TV or social media. With that being said I wanted to share with you people who have inspired caught my eye with their fashion and how they style it. How this is going to work is if I see someone (family member, celebrity, fellow blogger, Youtuber, etc.) with something on that I like I will snap a picture of them (with permission of course) and find different outfits that coordinate with their style while adding my touch to it while hopefully do them justice with the outfits I have chosen to represent them.

To start off this new thing, the first person who I will be attempting will be my aunt Demeshia -cue the applause and cheers from the crowd-. Ever since I can remember Meshia has always wore sweaters, blazers, cardigans, colored jeans, dresses, scarfs, jean jackets and oxfords. The way she dresses it all is perfect for any type of weather we get here in crazy old Texas. Below are a few pictures that basically sums up Meshia’s style

Asos wish list

In my attempt to write more post based on fashion I thought it would be fun to create a wish list for a store I’m proper obsessed called Asos.
I’m not really sure if this store is as well known in America as it is in the UK but I watch enough Zoe, Tanya and Louise to know that they have an amazing selection of brands, styles and clothing. The following pieces are a few i picked out whilst scrolling through my wish list, I will also link to the item so if you like it you can check I out as well.
These items are just a peek of what I’m going for when it comes to expanding fashion horizon mostly based on style, cut and color I tend to stick to things I know that I know I’m comfortable in and never really venture out so that is what I am hoping to accomplish this year.

Natural Beauty Pt.3- Two Natural makeup looks

To end this mini-series of post I want to show you two natural makeup look that I have been using recently when I am too lazy to do my whole or I just want to have more of a natural look. For the first look it is very simply and lightweight I typically use only four products for this look and wear this when I’m in a rush to do my makeup or I really just want to go mostly natural.  The four products I normally use are my Revlon Photo Ready powder in the shade Medium, Rimmel Brow Pencil in 100 (Dark Brown), Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer, and my EOS Lip Balm.
-Quick side note please ignore my hair, eyebrows and the writing on my mirror-

Obviously before I apply my makeup I cleaned my face (that’s kind of obvious) I have been recently using Shea Moisture African Black soap face wash.

Snow cones and Braums + Update

Last weekend before going to work I spent some time with some of my favorite people which included grabbing snow cones before it came pouring down –thanks mother nature-as well as grabbing a bite to eat. Then we ended it with an epic competition of Just Dance and Michael Jackson: The Experience to end the night –well for me anyways.-

-I should really stop taking peoples photos from behind I feel like a weirdo-

Natural Beauty Part 2- A week without makeup

The past two weeks I honestly couldn't be bothered with wearing anything on my face besides chap stick and moisturizer, I only wore makeup once within these past two weeks and that was to go out to dinner to  celebrate my litter sister 16th birthday. Throughout the first week I went through many feelings before I was able at accept the fact that I looked good -I'm using that term loosely- without makeup and no is judging me about how I look –well not out loud at least-. The stages I went through were as followed:
