Tricks to Save Money

I honestly feel like I am not the best person to give out type of advice, tips or tricks about anything related to holding onto money because quite frankly I am absolutely 100% rubbish at it! I’m the person sometimes pays there bills and sometimes forgets-thank god I still live at home and not in my own flat –. I also may or may not be an impulsive spender… Especially when it comes to food and clothes and makeup –my three true weaknesses-. As, I did this at least every other paycheck I finally came to the terms with the fact that I’m a shopaholic –anyone else want to jump on the Shopaholics Anonymous bus?- and I really need to start saving my money and all that Jazz that comes with growing up and becoming an adult.

I have a few things I would like to share with you guys that my mom shared with me, which I actually start implementing my last pay check and thought it would be a nice idea to share with you -especially my reads who are in school or getting ready to go off to college-. With these tips I actually did really well holding onto my money, until it was time for my next check.

Put money into your Savings
And don't touch it. You probably here this a lot from your parents but this is actually something that works really well if you just leave it alone. No matter how wonderful those converse you saw at Journey’s look. Leave the money in your savings –unless it’s a true emergency- to have for other things like buy yourself a new laptop or a car or something. If you just leave it be you will watch the amount in the account pile up.

Don't eat your money
If you are anything like me and enjoy a nice sandwich at a cool little deli shop or a quick bite with your friend on campus, you can say adios to your money. Instead of eating out try eating at home or bring a lunch with you, when you have a lunch and carrying it around it you will most likely want to eat that so you can stop carrying the bag instead of going to the café for a piece of fruit when you can just carry one around. If you don't like carrying your lunch why don't you invite your friends over and you guys can prepare a meal together.

Save to spend
This is something that is actually a really great idea my mom told me instead of just buying random pieces and soon find out nothing to match with it in your closet. Save your money to buy an outfit complete with a top, pants, shoes and jewelry anything you want for that one outfit.

Keep the change
No I am not talking about keeping the change from a waiter at a restaurant always leave a tip. I’m talking about the change you gather up when you pay with cash or you find change on the floor. Keep it and put the change in a bottle or an old jewelry box you don’t use anymore. When that’s full put all the change from the box into a bigger box, finally when you fill that up take it to the bank and put it into your account.
